Do names like Nancy Ajram, Amr Diab, Wael Kfoury also make you feel excited? Or have you once listened to Arab music, liked it, but don’t really know many artists? Do you want to grow your Arab Music Playlist? Then definitely keep on reading!
I’m a huge sucker for Arab music. I love the romantic lyrics, how it can put me in a dreamy mood, and the pure sound of the Arabic language. Growing up in a Moroccan family, I’ve always had Arab music around, but I started really listening to it when I was sixteen years old (yes I was listening to Elissa, Haifa Wehbe and Wael Kfoury whilst everybody was listening to Usher, Beyoncé and Rihanna). That’s when I discovered different artists and really enjoyed listening to the lyrics.
Arab songs make me think about weddings. It’s played a lot at Moroccan weddings, and because of the romantic lyrics, often used as opening dance.
I always like to discover new artists and perhaps you like to grow your playlist as well. That’s why I decided to share some of my idols + favorite songs, divided into three groups.
These are artists that are true icons in the Arab culture, you simply should have listened to them at least once. 🙂
