Everyone experiences it once in a while: being in a bad mood.
Here are 10 mood boosters that will help you through those emotionally darker days.
You don’t even have to talk about your problems.
Just to be around them, will make you forget about your worries and make you feel happy again.
2. A good book.
Leave your worries behind and get lost into a world of imagination.
My current favorite are “The Selection” novels, written by Kiera Cass.
3. Reading an old journal.
You’ll laugh at the problems you once thought were the worst and you’ll learn that taking your complications with a grain of salt, will help you through life.
4. Reading an old friendshipbook.
You remember those books that would get exchanged in class so your friends could answer the questions in them? Those will without a doubt make you cry out of laughter, because you’ll read the most embarrassing things. “When I grow up I want to be a … princess with long blonde hair”, “I’m in love with … my dad”, “We’re friends because … we both are huge fans of Jesse McCartney” (Jesse was our one true love)
I mean, chocolate will solve all of your problems. 🙂
Meet up with your mom, dad, sisters, grandma, cousins, they are the people you can share everything with. Sometimes even things you wouldn’t tell your friends. And just their presence can have an uplifting effect on you.
Go on Spotify, go to “mood” and click on “Mood Booster”. Here you go, music that’ll instantly make you feel a bit happier. Oh wait, I’ll make it easier for you, click on the picture below, it will redirect you to the playlist. Another tip is to listen to an old playlist you would listen to when you were younger, a happy nostalgia feeling will for sure arise.
8. Go to bed early.
Chances are that you are in a bad mood because you haven’t been sleeping much lately. Go to bed early and try to relax a bit before closing your eyes. 30 minutes of reading (a book, magazine, short story you’ve find on the internet …) works wonders.
9. Be surrounded by the scent of oranges.
It is scientifically proven that the scent of an orange will make you happy. You can spray orange scent on your sheets before going to bed, eat an orange, light an orange scented candle, …
10. Do something you haven’t done before.
Go to an amusement park and try out that rollercoasters you haven’t been on before, visit a city you’ve never visited, try out that pastry you have been seeing for a while now in your local bakery but never actually tasted, … Doing things that you’ve never done before, will make you feel excited. Maybe a little afraid at first (think about skydiving for the first time), but the rush (how big or small it might be) will eventually boost your mood.
These are the first 10 thing that come up on my mind. I’m sure there are more ways to boost your mood. What are your mood boosters?
Let me know. I’m so curious!
